Christopher Carlos, Co-Artistic Director

Chris is delighted to be a Co-Artistic Director at Kitchen Dog Theater, where he has directed and acted in over 40 productions. Before coming to Kitchen Dog Theater, Chris was a founding member and Managing Director of the award winning Actors' Stock Company where he produced, directed, designed, and/or acted in over 30 productions. He has also appeared at Dallas Theater Center, Theater Three, Teatro Dallas, Shakespeare Festival of Dallas, Actors' Theater, The Lean Theater, New Arts Theater, Stage #1, Moonstruck Theater Company, and The Gryphon Players. He has toured the continental US, Alaska and parts of Canada with The Nebraska Theater Caravan. Chris has directed productions for Alley Theater in Houston, Theater Three, Dallas Theater Center, Junior Players, Texas Worldwide Television, Young Audiences, Boys and Girls Club of Greater Dallas, Voices Unsilenced, Project Discovery, and The Versatile Theater (which he also co-founded and was Artistic Director for three years). As an actor, Mr. Carlos has been active in the broadcast industry with several TV, film, and commercial credits. Christopher is Head of the Theater Department at The Winston School and is a member of Actors' Equity Association. He is represented by The Horne Agency.



Tina Parker, Co-Artistic Director

Tina Parker, a native Texan, is a graduate of the Division of Theatre at Southern Methodist University, where she studied both acting and directing. She currently serves as the Co-Artistic Director and Administrative Director at Kitchen Dog Theater. Active with the company since 1993, she has been directly involved, as an actor, director, or designer, with over 50 Kitchen Dog Theater productions. Her work has also been seen at the Dallas Theater Center, Junior Players, Shakespeare Dallas, WaterTower Theatre, Undermain Theatre, and the Arts and Letters Live Reading series. Tina has appeared in many film and TV projects, including recent roles in THE LONE RANGER, LONGMIRE, as well as a recurring role on the award-winning BREAKING BAD. Over the years, she has received both acting and directing awards from Dallas/Ft. Worth Critics Forum, Leon Rabin Awards, D Magazine and The Dallas Observer. Tina is represented locally by The Horne Agency. 


Tim Johnson, Managing Director

Tim’s first show with Kitchen Dog was over twenty years ago and he joined the Artistic Company in 1997. In 2014, Tim stepped into the position of Managing Director. KDT directing credits include THE DUMB WAITER, THE ARSONISTS, DETROIT, THE CHAIRS, RUTH, THE GOAT, OR WHO IS SYLVIA?, TRESTLE AT POPE LICK CREEK, LAUGHING WILD, SOME EXPLICIT POLAROIDS, CHRISTIE IN LOVE, ACT OF PASSION, WHO’S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF?, IN THE JUNGLE OF CITIES, and SORE THROATS. Tim also wrote/performed ONE: MAN. SHOW. at KDT. Tim’s work has been seen at a number of other Dallas theaters and universities. His work as a director has received numerous nods from the Rabin Awards, DFW Theater Critics’ Forum Awards, Dallas Observer’s “Best Of” and the Dallas Morning News “Best Of” lists. Previously, Tim was the Director of Performance for The McKinney Avenue Contemporary (The MAC), where he presented some of the nation’s leading performers. In addition to his duties at KDT, Tim also teaches acting at the University of North Texas. He holds a BFA in Theatre from Southern Methodist University and an MFA in Contemporary Performance from Naropa University.


Mauricio Navarro, Marketing Director

Mr. Navarro was born in Mexico City and moved to the Houston (which he hated) until he arrived at the luxuriant lands of Dallas, Texas in 1991. At that point he served in a variety of roles from the City of Dallas, City Managers Office (Intergovernmental Relations, then Economic Development), to the Dallas Burn of Major League Soccer, to the Greater Dallas Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. At the Chamber, he saw the entrepreneurial spirit in action and thus gave flight to his consulting agency with Marketing, Public Relations and Special Events services. Now, fast-forward 17 years later, he is the Executive Producer of the Dallas St. Patrick’s Parade and Festival and consultant to many area non-profit organizations. Mr. Navarro looks forward to building bridges in his new role as Marketing Director and hopes that you will also take him up on his quest to expand Theater throughout the City of Dallas and beyond. Email him at Mauricio@kitchendogtheater.org at any time. He is also the proud Papa of two beautiful girls Vienna (8) and Valencia (4) and his blood type is IPA!
